The walk starts at Baslow Nether End, crosses the Derwent at Bubnell Bridge and continues across fields to turn north into Bank Wood. After a short stretch on Bramley Lane, the Carver to Hassop road is crossed and the route continues on a track uphill to Deep Rake and High Rake. At Longstone Edge we turn south east to descend across fields and along lanes to Great Longstone and Monsal Head. Ashford in the Water is reached via Pennyunk Lane. The walk continues alongside the Wye with a short stretch along the road into Bakewell.
June 14 to 22 is Well Dressing week in Ashford. Four sites are usually dressed. Time will be made available to view the decorated wells before proceeding to Bakewell.
Motorists can park at Baslow to join the walk, and return to their cars via the Sheffield bus from Bakewell.
