Overview

Whitchurch Hill in winter. Starting from the green at Whitchurch Hill, we will pass Hardwick House and Mapledurham House and then turn north to Abbots Wood. This is a circular walk mostly on tracks so expect it to be muddy underfoot. We will stop for a short break after about 4 miles and again for lunch at about 8 miles. There are no public toilet facilities on the route but plenty of cover for any natural breaks required. We start fairly high at 130m above the river Thames and drop down near the river to 40m - what goes down then must go back up - and its a fairly stiff climb to reach Nuney Green but then its mostly rolling woodland / farmland back to the start.
