Everyone will be most welcome to join us as we walk from White Hill Golf Club, outside Dane End. The golf club is on the hill above Dane End so we will start at an elevation, giving great views of the East Herts countryside as we follow wide tracks towards Levens Green. We will walk on a quiet country lane by St Edmunds College, the oldest Catholic School in England, founded in 1568. It boasts 20 canonized saints and 133 martyrs amongst its alumni. The chapel was designed by Pugin. We will walk on the pavement through Colliers End and turn towards Potters Green then back to White Hill.
The golf club has agreed to us using their carpark. The club house will be open for post walk refreshments.
The route does use stretches of quiet road, we may appreciate getting away from the paths, come prepared for some muddy stretches across fields.
The paths are initially flat but towards the end there are a couple of small hills.
