Overview

Note that this walk involves trudging through some (potentially) very muddy fields and the last mile has deep and overgrown ploughed furrows, with the path obscured. However, I reckon the Skylarks, Jackdaws and the view down to the Stort valley makes up for any discomfort.

We will meet up at the T-junction in the middle of Eastwick, by The Lion (former pub).

We start by walking northward up a small hill and through Gilston Park, passing Gilston Park House, then Golden Hill, St Mary’s Church, Overhall Farm, High Trees and Actons Farm, before turning westward at Turtle Farm then taking a break at the 'Snowdrops and Daffodils' rewilding project in Nether Street. After that we go southward, through Marshland Wood, passing Hunsdon Airfield, Eastwick Hall Farm and finally down the hill to Eastwick (with a view across the valley to Harlow).
