Sevenoaks Ramblers organises a variety of walks on Wednesdays and Sundays in the wonderful countryside around Sevenoaks. Come and join us!
Rescheduled from 21st January
We will walk from Glynde up onto the Downs at Beddingham radio masts and then along the tops taking in the views to the North and South to the sea before dropping down to Alfriston for a well earned picnic or light pub snacks. We will walk on towards Berwick Station stopping to admire the recently refurbished Long Man, and then catch the train back to Glynde.
There will be two sharp ascents, onto the Downs and then up to the Long Man,
The walk to Alfriston and as far as Wilmington is on all weather paths or chalk downland and therefore dry underfoot. The path along the Weald Way thereafter may be muddy,.
Please do not buy your train ticket until we have reached Alfriston in case of a change of plans.
We will wherever possible use all weather surfaces, but please check the website or call the leader before setting out for any changes, and the weather forecast to ensure that you are carrying the appropriate kit for the circumstances.
Unfortunately not suitable for dogs.
