Overview

The Rollright Stones is a prehistoric site located on the Oxfordshire & Warwickshire border. The complex consists of three main elements, The King's Men stone circle, the King Stone, and the Whispering Knights.  There is a £2 cash admission fee.  From Long Compton the route climbs to a ridge, drops down to the tiny hamlet of Little Rollright and climbs back up to the Rollright Stones.  It continues along the ridge towards Great Rollright and then descends to Long Compton.  The views are very beautiful. We will have lunch at the Wyatts Garden Centre (Hill Barn Farm) near Great Rollright, which serves light meals such as salads, quiches and soup.  However, we have to walk more than 6 miles to get there, so please bring some fruit or snacks for a pre-lunch break.
