You'll get a warm welcome when you join one of North Beds Ramblers walks. We are a friendly sociable group and walk at a moderate pace. There is no need to book, just turn up! Unfortunately, only assistance dogs are allowed on our walks.
Walk with us
We are the only Ramblers group in Bedfordshire to walk on Saturday afternoon (1.30pm start in the summer, 1.00pm in the winter). Every walk is guided by a walk leader and the walks are usually circular, varying between 5 and 8 miles. On the second and fourth Saturday of each month we also have an additional walk that is 10 to 13 miles long which starts at 10am.
Walking the Bedfordshire Wolds provides fabulous views over rolling countryside, the Woburn area offers plenty of opportunity to spot different wildlife whilst walking beside our rivers is particularly soothing. We walk across all of Bedfordshire but also venture across the borders into Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire. Occasionally we offer weekends away and historical/cultural walks in London.
You can download a PDF of our latest walks and events look at - Spring Walks Guide (February to May 2024).
You are most welcome to try out a walk or two before deciding to join the Ramblers. Just make sure you are fit to walk and always wear suitable footwear and clothing. To join our group simply register and choose North Beds Ramblers.
Ramblers membership comes with many benefits including the ability to walk with any Ramblers group anywhere in Britain and discounts on walking gear at leading outdoor shops.
The Ramblers app gives you easy access to a wealth of maps and walking routes. Your membership helps the Ramblers nationally to continue the essential work of ensuring that the countryside remains open to all.
In addition to walking, we also run social events including a Christmas meal, mince pie and mulled wine walk and a summer lunch.
