Walking in Paisley and beyond
Although based in Paisley many of our 100 plus members come from the surrounding areas including Inverclyde, North Ayrshire and Glasgow City. Our weekly guided Saturday walks generally also take place in these areas and beyond including nearby islands, where we will perhaps enjoy a walk along the beach or a walk in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Past years have also included bus day excursions and weekends away which have been thoroughly enjoyable, enabling us to walk routes further afield. The festive lunch is another yearly social highlight.
We are a friendly group so if you want to meet new people and perhaps make new friends then come along and join us for a couple of walks before becoming a member of the Ramblers.
Our walking community
A typical walk on a Saturday only, normally starts between 9:30 – 10:30am and is between 7-10 miles. The terrain can vary depending on the type of walk e.g. coastal, countryside, hill. Walks are generally leisurely to moderate so there is always something to suit different levels of fitness in the calendar.
We travel to and from walks on public transport, as often we have a post walk refreshment, so you generally do not need to book on to a walk. You simply turn up at the meeting time and place advised on the walk listing, which will also include other information on the walk provided by the walk leader.
It is always advisable to check the weather forecast before coming so you are correctly prepared for the weather conditions. We advise bringing along a packed lunch. All our walks are carried out in line with the Ramblers Guidelines.
