UPDATE 26 March 2021
ROYSTON RAMBLERS WALKS PROGRAMME RE-STARTING SOON!
The UK government has announced that organised sport and physical activity, which
include Ramblers group walks, can resume from the 29 March, and are exempt from
legal gathering limits. This is great news and we will be offering led walks again very
soon. We’re sure you will all be excited to get going again. Of course, Covid-19 has
not gone away and the risks remain. To ensure everyone’s safety and to minimise
the spread of the virus:
• Walks will be advertised on this page. The maximum number of walkers,
including the leader and back marker/s, will be stated in the advert
• Places on each walk must be booked in advance by email to the leader, who
will allocate on a first come, first served basis. The leader will either confirm
your space or tell you that the walk is full. Please do not turn up for a walk
without a confirmed space, as we shall have to turn you away. Full details of
how to book will be set out in the walk advertisement. If all places are
allocated, the advert will state FULLY BOOOKED
• If you book on a walk and find you can’t go, please contact the leader
immediately to cancel. There may be others waiting for a place
If you experience symptoms of Covid-19 or feel unwell after booking a walk,
please do not attend. If possible inform the leader
• The leader will take a Register at the start of the walk. This will be used for
contact tracing, if needed, so please take the time to check that your phone
number is listed correctly on the register. Your details will be kept securely
and destroyed after 21 days by the leader
• Please follow current guidelines on social contact and physical distancing,
before and during the walk, including any breaks
• Avoid touching gates and path furniture. Include alcohol-based sanitiser
and/or gloves as well as a face-covering in your kit.
• Don’t share food or drink or equipment (eg walking poles)
• When other walkers are passing, stand back and give way

Some of this will take up extra time at the beginning of the walk. We ask for your
patience and co-operation at that time.

Thank you
