Dear Members,
I’m pleased to let you know that I’ve organised a Speaker Night on Friday 27th February at Linlithgow Golf Club, and it would be great to see you there.
Timings:
6pm for a 6.30pm start at Linlithgow Golf Club.
Cost:
£14 per person, which includes a main course meal (with a choice of four options on the night, such as fish and chips, steak pie, etc.), followed by tea or coffee.
We have a really interesting programme lined up:
- Deidre Evans (one of our own members) will give a 20–30 minute illustrated talk entitled “Rock Talk”, exploring the landscapes of Scotland, how they were formed, and how they came together over millions of years.
- Our second speaker will be Angela Gannon, who will be talking about St Kilda — the island, the people who lived there, how they survived, and ultimately why the community failed. I’ve heard this talk before and can highly recommend it; Angela is an excellent and engaging speaker.
In addition, Julie MacDonald from Not Just Travel will be joining us. Julie will be available to offer advice on trips away and help you find the best destinations and deals. Her service comes at no cost to you, as she is paid by the travel companies, and she can help take the stress out of planning a great holiday.
I hope you can join us for what promises to be an enjoyable and informative evening. Further details on booking and numbers will follow.
Regards Findlay Erskine
