We are the Winchester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A undulating walk with lovely views starting from Upham, passing through Longwood Estate, the Preshaws and Stephens Castle Down, using parts of the Allen King Way, South Downs Way and Monarch's Way.
There are 5 stiles and inevitably some mud, though nothing horrendous on the prewalk. Quite a bit of easy walking on country lanes. There are 3 descents, 2 grassy and one chalky, for which poles might be useful if you use them. One chalky ascent.
Please bring a picnic lunch and drinks and snacks as reuired.
Please let the leader know you are coming as we will set off once all known walkers have arrived.
