This 11.4 mile walk starts from the East Meon village car park and the walk encircles the village. There are some great viewpoints of the village and valleys around it, and from the downs on the South Downs Way. The terrain is varied, but mainly along well established footpaths, with some short quiet road sections and a few narrow paths with undergrowth; and I would therefore suggest that long trousers or equivalent are worn. This walk does include a few stiles and a few slopes; several of which are steep (so poles would be a good idea if you use them). There are a few places which will be muddy after rain but I didn’t encounter any problems on the recce. This walk is not suitable for dogs.
If the weather is sunny, please remember hats or suncream. There are no facilities on route. This is a picnic walk and please bring plenty to drink.
Car sharing would help if you are able. Please either arrange directly or let me know your location and I will try to connect people together.
Please let me know if you intend to come as we may depart once everyone known has arrived.
