Overview

The walk goes round the first pond before going through Oakhanger.  There is a further 5 ponds, the walk takes us along tracks, heathland and woods and arable fields, through beautiful East Hampshire Countryside, with far distance views.  3 hills (not steep), and a number of stiles.

This is a picnic walk, please bring lunch, snacks and drinks, additional drinks and sun cream if the weather is hot.

Poles are advisable if used.

To travel to starting point, take A31 to Alton, stay on A31 to roundabout to industrial estate, turn left at roundabout, left at traffic lights into Mill Lane, at the end of road turn left onto B3004, drive 4.5 miles, turn right onto Oakhanger Road, car park for Shortheath Common by the lake is 1/2 mile on the left, signposted "Car Park".
