This is a circular walk starting and finishing in Cheriton village and walking to the east (civil war battle site), Hinton and beyond. There is one stile near Hinton and generally good tracks to follow, with some short sections on quiet roads. There is one fairly long but not steep incline. There are some lovely views and varied scenery. If there has been any serious rain prior to the walk it will inevitably be muddy in places, in which case, please remember poles and waterproof boots.
Parking is at The Flower Pots Inn on Brandy Mount (also known as Westfield Road), Cheriton, SO24 0QQ. Please park towards the rear of the car park. Toilet facilities will be available before the walk.
The pub is happy for us to place our food orders prior to the walk. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time, if you are eating. A menu will be available, and food can be paid for when ordering drinks on arrival after the walk. We are limited to 20 people eating. We will be seated in the barn building.
Please let the leader know if you wish to join and also if you wish to eat. We will depart when everyone registered has arrived.
