8 miles Braishfield Figure of 8

This is a Figure of 8 walk around Braishfield on Thursday 15th August.  It will be 4.2 miles in the morning and 3.8 miles in the afternoon.  The walk starts at the carpark at Braishfield Village Hall, 8 Braishfield Road, Braishfield SO51 OPX and we shall be leaving at 10.15 am.

The walk in the morning is across fields with some lovely views.   When I walked it a few weeks ago, there were a few stiles and one rather overgrown stretch so it is advisable to wear long trousers and sleeves.

We will return to the car park for a picnic lunch on the Recreation Ground.   There is also a cafe there which is manned by volunteers and I have told the cafe to expect a group of walkers for coffee/tea at lunch time.  The cafe does do cake and some hot snacks but it is advisable to bring a picnic as I am not sure how much food there will be.   There are toilets at the cafe which we can use before starting the walk.   In the afternoon,  we will do a walk along the boundary of Hillier Gardens and back to the carpark.
