Overview

After leaving the canal visitor centre We walk along the towpath towards Froudes swing bridge. We go along Padworth road just before a bridge we bear right down to the River Kennet. We follow the footpath along the river towards Padworth Mill. We cross the river and follow footpath and ascend through woodland before reaching a road. After passing Upper Church farm when reaching a house called Ladywood we turn right. We descend down fields and cross a field before ascending to reach a road. We pass Aldermaston church  and drop into the village of Aldermaston..We turn right onto Fishermans lane. In 500 yards we turn left crossing 3 fields before reaching the road near Froudes Lane. We go down Froudes Lane and turn right onto the towpath .We follow the towpath back to Aldermaston Lock and the cars.

Please car share if possible and park considerately near Aldermaston Wharf but not in the tea room car park. We will meet in Wharfside at the Aldermaston teas rooms and Canal visitor centre. If you would like to join this walk please book online by 6pm on 13th April.
