A linear walk to Newtyle, which heads via field paths and tracks from the bus stop at Auchterhouse up towards higher ground, passing Bonnyton and Scotston. It then enters an area of forest where the route curves round the northern slopes of Henderston Hill before reaching the top of Kinpurney, from where there are panoramic long views. The descent from there to Newtyle completes the walk.
Park at the recreation ground car park in Newtyle's North Street in time to catch the No. 57 bus at 10.18 from Newtyle Parish Church. Allow 10 mins for that.
The approx. 1 1/4 mile descent from Kinpurney is quite steep in places and could be uncomfortable for anybody with sensitive knees.
