Ben More, rising to 3169ftr (966m) between Loch na Keal and Loch Scridain is not only the highest peak on Mull, but the highest on all of Scotland's Islands, and the only Island Munro outside of Skye.
This walk starts with an unremitting and steady climb from the Shores of Loch na Keal, with a few steep streches and minor scrambles. On the way up we pass many burns, and through a rocky valley with complete with waterfalls.
From the summit, we hopefully should have a panoramic view of mountains (including Ben Nevis, Ben Cruachan, the Paps of Jura), islands (Iona, Islay, Coll, Ulva and others) and sea lochs, if its very clear the coast of Northern Ireland will also be visible.
We retrace our steps back down the mountain and back to the Loch, enjoying the views we missed on the way up.
This walk forms part of the Cheshire Walkers Weekend away on the Isle of Mull and is only open to those booked onto the weekend.
