Overview

Join us for one of North Wales's Great Classic walks!

We start with a steep climb to the remains of the 13th Century Castell Dinas Brans, established by the Princes of Powys, with its magnificent views including towards the Berwyn mountains, the Dee Valley, Pontcycsyllte aqueduct and across the English border into Shropshire. We then take in part of the Offa's Dyke Path, walking below the Limestone Eglwyseg Cliffs. We eventually see views of Valle Crucis Abbey, where we decend to.  We then walk to Velvet Hill, and walk down to the canal and to Horseshoe Falls, a weir which controls the water levels in the Shropshire Union Canal, we then return along the canal passing the Chain Bridge Hotel, back to Llangollen.

Option for post walk refreshments at the Corn Mill, overlooking the River Dee.
