Starting at Findatie car park, we walk along the south shore of Scotland's largest lowland loch, using the Heritage Trail to the Vane Farm RSPB nature centre. The walk continues by climbing Navitie Hill before taking the hill path to Benarty Hill summit. We then head west to the end of the ridge, with great views all the way, over Loch Leven to the Cleish and Ochill Hills in one direction and the villages of west Fife in the other. The route returns to Benarty Hill, before heading south and east over Dunmore Fort top before returning via Vane Farm to the start.
The walk involves some hill walking, with muddy terrain possible on Benarty Hill. Otherwise tracks and paths are good, though steep sections will be encountered. Good walking shoes and boots are required, along with clothing suitabe for exposed hillsides. Hat, gloves and spare clothing should be carried, along with fluids and food.
Registered assistance dogs only allowed. No school age children.
