Return of a regular crowd-pleaser. A bracing seaside pre-Christmas stroll. In the morning we have an atmospheric walk along the Thames Estuary with distant views of Kent. If there's time, we may make a brief diversion onto Two Tree Island.
Lunch is in Old Leigh with various options including festive fish and chips at the Mayflower (see link below). I will make a lunch booking, so can anyone who wants lunch please let me know by December 5th.
In the afternoon we walk along the promenade to Southend with the prospect of tea, coffee and ice cream, returning from Southend Central station. Potential drop-out points at Leigh, Chalkwell and Westcliff.
We catch the 9.15 train from Liverpool Street, meeting at Benfleet Station at 10.00. You should buy a day return to Southend Central.
