N.B. This is Children in Need weekend and Ramblers nationally will be putting on walks to support it. We will not be collecting any money on our walk for Children in Need as the way to make donations will be advised by the BBC website.
The start of the walk will be a steady climb to join ‘The Ridgeway Footpath’.
We will walk in a southerly direction along a flat mountain top then head west to St. Cein’s Church, Llangeinor.
The lunch stop will be at St. Cein’s Church where members of the congregation will serve tea, coffee, cakes and local produce. Donations for the church funds are welcome!
We then walk downhill to Pantyawel to join the cycle track and return to the car park.
There are 2 stiles.
Directions: Travel time from Swansea: approximately 45 mins.
Leave M4 at J36 (Sarn Services). Stay in left lane. Take 2nd exit (signed Bryncethin A4061) then continue until signposted Nantymoel.
At bottom of hill, after entering Blackmill on A4061, turn left immediately at MURCO petrol Station and before Fox & Hounds Pub. (N.B. Here ignore Sat Nav if it wants to continue along main road).
Pass entrance to Fox and Hounds then turn right between footbridge and café.
It appears to be a dead end but here turn left to cross an old river bridge to enter Blackmill Cattle Market car park.
