This is a lovely walk along the foreshore at Blackness passing the 15th century fortress of Blackness Castle where we will discover some of its fascinating history before continuing along the foreshore to walk through Wester Shore Wood, home to a variety of wildlife & with views across the Firth of Forth. Returning to the start point via the village centre, we will learn of its links to the well known Scottish bard, Rabbie Burns!
We will be walking on a mixture of surfaced & unsurfaced paths & tracks which can become muddy after rain so walking boots are recommended & as not all paths are lit please bring a head or hand held torch with you.
Booking is essential & please state at the time of booking if you require car sharing, otherwise it will be assumed you are meeting us at the start of the walk.
