Overview

This 9 mile circular walk will start from the walkers car park in Straiton, we will follow part of the Church Walk till we reach one of the roads into Blairquhan.  We will then follow this tarred road till we reach the gate house near Kirkmichael before retracing our route till we reach Tranew Linn for lunch.

We will then follow a fisherman’s track along the Water of Girvan before crossing the bridge over the river and starting a slow gentle climb past Altizourie farm and onto Sclenteuch Moor. This section has a good path but it has some wet parts and waterproof boots are advised.  The walk will start from the Walkers car park, Straiton at 10.00am and finish at approximately 14.30.
