Overview

This is an approximately 8 mile walk starting at the seafront car park in Ayr near the Ayr India Restaurant.  We will head inland and walk to Alloway via the Old Racecourse, Corsehill Gardens, Belleisle Park (including the Deer Park and Walled Garden), Roselle Park (including the WW1 Memorial Garden) and Burns Monument Gardens in Alloway.  We will return to the seafront via the Cambusdoon Estate and Greenfield Avenue, because the Millennium Bridge across the Doon is closed for refurbishment. The walk is on good paths, but some are muddy after rain and there are a number of tree root hazards in Belleisle Park.  The uphill sections have fairly gentle inclines, the moderate walk rating is due to the length. Toilets are available at the start of the walk (50p charge) and at regular intervals during the walk including Roselle House and Burns Museum. The walk leader will meet you in the car park near the Ayr India restaurant and please let her know if you are planning to travel directly to Ayr on 07900177641.
