From Redhill bus station, bus 410 at 11.05 to Bletchingley. Walk to Inn on the Pond at Nutfield Marsh for lunch or picnic. After lunch, walk alongside the lake in Mercers Country Park and then through The Moors nature reserve to Redhill. Train back to East Croydon . There is the opportunity to leave the walk early (after about 3.3 miles) by catching a bus soon after lunch to Redhill.
For those returning by rail, you should be back to East Croydon by 15.45. It is possible to return using the 420 bus but I can't guarantee finishing the walk in time to catch the 15.17 to Sutton.

On the walk there are no significant uphills and just one stile.
Bus stop O outside Sutton Station for 420 bus at 09:50 to Redhill Bus Station or 10:26 train from East Croydon to Redhill. The bus arrives at Redhill Bus Station at 10.48. There are toilets in McDonald's adjacent to the Bus Station. Please note that a return by bus after the walk is possible but finishing the walk in time to catch the 15.17 bus to Sutton can't be guaranteed.
