Overview

The walk starts from Whatstandwell Station, heading north on the Cromford Canal for about a mile. This is followed by a climb up to Upper Holloway, some of which is quite steep but mainly on steps. We will then make our way up to and around Cliff Quarry and on to the memorial at Crich Stand. From there we descend to Crich village via a circuit of Hilts Quarry and then climb up to The Tors, another ridge above the Derwent Valley. From there we drop down to the woodland of Crich Chase and  then back down to the canal for a gentle two mile walk back to the station.
