For once we will forego the pleasure of climbing Botley Hill and start this brisk and hilly walk at the car park at the top, from whence we will briefly go East along the North Downs Way revelling in the view of the Greensand Ridge, the Weald beyond and the M25 in the foreground, We cut north through Tandridge, to Beddlestead Hill which we descend past the wheeling kites towards Chelsham church where we'll break for a snack. We will then move along the Tandridge border path to Ficklestead regretfully passing the White Bear before stopping at Chelsham for a picnic lunch and refreshments at the Bull. The route back to Botley Hill follows the Vanguard Way passing through the evocatively named Worms Heath, Slines Oak, and Greenhill Shaw before passing through Titsey Park and a short climb to the car park.
A few steepish hills with the accompanying views over the countryside.
While we will follow hard surface trails wherever possible there are bound to be muddy parts of the walk, which is undulating with approximately 1500 feet of ascent.
