A seven mile circular walk starting from the car park at Chartwell - there is a short climb up Horns Hill with splendid views over the house to the Weald of Kent beyond. We proceed to Hosey Hill Common and across to the ruined tower at the top of Tower Hill (providing the paths are not closed for clay pigeon shooting) and then descend to Westerham, with views across the North Downs. There will be time for a tea/coffee break in Westerham. The return is through parkland and woods passing an Iron Age fort, crossing Crockham Hill Common to the viewpoint at Mariner's Hill before descending back to Chartwell.
Some steepish hills, but nothing too long or onerous. Paths can be muddy after periods of persistent rain, so wear sturdy footwear and bring walking poles if you use them. Well behaved dogs welcome but there is livestock on parts of the walk and open woods where dogs may easily be lost so they will need to be kept on leads.
The walk is open to anyone who enjoys walking and to current Rambler members.
