Overview

From the river valley we walk up to the top of the town passing the senior school and through fields and quiet lanes on to Conkwell Grange.  From here we reach Winsley and descend to Avonciliff.  Depending on the level of the river, we either return by the river, or the canal, through Barton Farm and back to the Station car park.   Expect some good views and stiles.  There is one long and steep ascent from the town, and another steep descent from Winsley to the river.

There may be livestock enroute and sticks may be useful as it may be muddy.  Chalk, in particular, can be slippery when wet.  Bring refreshments for one stop.  We will be back for lunch
