Overview

We start the walk in the Castle Combe visitors Car park going West past the Old Motte and bailey above the village.

Through the golf course we follow the river to Nettleton Shrub then cross the stepping stones and follow the track up to the lane. We follow the lane for a few hundred yards then take the track down to Ford.

From Ford we head up the lane for a short distance then take paths across fields and down to Long Dean. We then follow the MacMillan Way back towards Castle Combe, taking the path back up towards the car park.

Please bring a snack for one refreshment stop and plenty of water especially if it's hot.  There are a few stiles.  The ground should be dry but good footwear is recommended Poles may be helpful.    There may be livestock in fields.
