Overview

Forest walk taking in Barnedge Hill, Beaver Enclosure at Greathough Brook, and on a clear day great views from High Beech, returning to our parking location via Astonbridge Inclosure and its old quarries.

Walk will be on tracks, lanes and small uneven paths. Due to the time of year, part of the walk could be muddy with wet grass and slippery stones, requiring suitable footwear.

Parking is in the entrance of a forest track southwards off the A4136 Mitcheldean to Monmouth Road, just to the east of the Mireystock Crossroads with the B4234. (NB Postcode is approximate only.) Please keep the track entrance clear for forest and emergency vehicles. NOTE: If entering from the Brierley direction, there is a LARGE POTHOLE as you enter – please take care.
