Park in Western Esplanade, Southampton (pay £8 for all day) for 8.15 if travelling by car, then walk to Redjet terminal and get on 9.00 ferry to West Cowes - get a day return ask for Senior Fare if 60+. Go direct to Terminal if not trravelling by car.Bus No 1 to Newport and then Bus No 12 from Newport Stand B to Brighstone. Walk via Longstone, Brook Down, Compton Down, Freshwater to Yarmouth. Bus No 7 to Newport. Bus No 1 Stand A to West Cowes. Redjet to Southampton. Should be back in Southampton between 1800 and 1900. Fine views on ridge walk. Picnic materials can be bought at Brighstone.
