Broughton Heights is the highest of the fine range of hills lying to the east of Broughton village. With grassy ridges and steep heathery slopes, the hills give some superb views. Our route traverses Broughton Heights before returning over Hammer Head to take in Trahenna Hill.
Grassy hill paths and tracks will be encountered. There is a steep, narrow path through heather for the ascent of Hammer Head.
As this is a high-level walk, good all weather walking gear is required, along with strong walking boots as the route can be muddy and rough in places. If livestock are encountered, walk quietly, avoiding if possible. When road walking, please exercise care, walking in single file.
Car share: journey form Leys Park is 96 miles return. Passengers should give the driver £9.
