A walk through upper Glenalmond starting beside the small, but impressive, waterfall known as Buchanty Spout. Our route takes us along the River Almond beside a series of rapids, through a mixed woodland and arable landscape and past the gardens of Glenalmond House before climbing up on to open moorland. From the highest point on our walk, with extensive views over the Perthshire countryside, we descend gradually to Buchanty Loch and Glenalmond House Arboretum with some fine towering specimen conifers. A short walk along the Almond takes us back to the start.
Generally good paths and tracks with several uphill sections & some stiles/gates. Paths might be muddy in places. All weather walking gear recommended.
There is a café at Gloagburn Farm Shop near Methven after the walk.
Limited parking so please car share where possible.
Please contact the walk leader to book no later than 24 hours before the walk as places are limited. Let the walk leader know if you will be travelling direct to the start point or if you will be going to the meeting point at Livingston North Train Station for car sharing.
