This is a leisurely walk on well maintained forestry tracks & woodland paths through a Scots Pine plantation with hidden lochs and an abundance of wildlife. Red Squirrels, Otters and Deer are often spotted in the area.
We will search for the Pulpit Stone of Covenanter days and take a quick look at Tullieallan Castle from the outside. Sadly admission is not possible.
The paths can be very muddy so stout footwear is a must. It can also be overgrown with jaggy nettles so short trousers not recommended. If you have walking poles, you might want to use them.
We’ll stop for a bite to eat, so bring a snack and a drink.
If you wish to join this walk - please text the Walk Leader Margaret on 07397 562809 no later than Tuesday 7th April.
We will meet and car share from Livingston North Railway Car Park, Glasgow side. Please bear in mind, the car park is very busy on weekdays, you may have to find parking in adjacent streets.
Please inform the walk leader if you will proceed directly to the Starting Point.
At the end of the walk, time permitting, there’ll be an option to go for tea and scones.
