Join us for an evening walk through Polbeth and West Calder, uncovering the hidden stories behind familiar paths. From the link between Limefield Falls and explorer David Livingstone to the area’s shale mining past, discover the people and events that shaped the community.
It is essential to book with the walk leader as places are limited to 20 people. Please state if you are wanting to join the car share at the time of booking otherwise it will be assumed you are meeting us at the start point.
Our route will be along paths beside Harwood Water to reach West Calder & will be returning through mixed woodland where paths are often muddy in places & as with most woodland paths can be uneven due to tree roots. It is therefore advisable to wear walking boots or trainers & to have a headtorch with you as some paths are unlit.
Please be aware there are several short shallow flights of steps along the route.
