Overview

We head south-east from the car park at Bury Down before turning south to walk beside the Gallops at Hodcott Down, subsequently joining the Downland Village Riding Route to reach Old Street. The route then takes us through High Robins to Furze Lane and on to Farnborough, where there will be time to view the memorial window to John Betjeman at All Saints Church. Field paths then take us back to West Ilsley via Starveall Farm and Harcourt Farm before skirting round the north side of the village to climb gently back to the Ridgeway.
