Overview

PLEASE USE THE EMAIL LINK PROVIDED TO LET THE LEADER KNOW YOU ARE COMING BEFORE 8PM ON 17 OCTOBER 2025 SO THAT THE LEADER CAN COMPLETE THE REGISTER OF ATTENDEES. WE MAY GO EARLY IF ALL THAT HAVE REGISTERED ARE THERE.

A new project - to walk from Reading to Southampton with the option to continue to Santiago de Compostela in North West Spain. Meet at the Wokefield Common Nature Reserve Car Park on Goring Lane just south of Burghfield Common RG7 3JB (near a pond on OS Maps). The party will then walk into Burghfield Common to get the bus to Reading. There will then be a short visit to Reading Museum to purchase a Pilgrim Passport (£6) and get the first stamp. After a short tour of historical sites  we start the route along the Kennet and Avon Canal to Theale before turning south across country to Burghfield Common and the cars.

Note the next walk be in November on a date chosen by the party so bring your calender with you. The intention is then for those who complete the walk to Southampton and have two stamps per day in their passport to organise a trip walking the Camino Ingles in Northern Spain during 2026.
