Overview

Interesting, mostly flat, walk from Snaresbrook, passing through less visited southern parts of Epping Forest, finishing at the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge and on to Chingford where there are buses and trains.  It may be muddy in parts, reasonable paths.

There are usually open toilets at Snaresbrook Underground station, otherwise bushes are fairly plentiful although we are never far from residential areas. Please bring a snack or packed lunch, although some may wish to avail themselves of the food available at the Butlers Retreat or the pub.

(Anyone wishing to add another 5-6 miles to the walk may  continue through the forest  to Theydon Bois.)
