We will head easterly initially to Netchley Quarry before walking south alongside The Wilderness and eventually heading along a track below Caer Caradoc Hill and rounding the southerly foot of it. We will then turn northwards, following a narrow sheep track-like path with a steep drop to the left side, for at least a mile. Users of poles will definitely need them. We continue up the length of Caer Caradoc Hill and then gradually rise to the top section between the two Caradocs. We can admire the effort of those going to the top of the hill and also consider the possibilities of lunching on Little Caradoc. Afterwards we will head home down the easterly side of the Hill before regaining the farm track and on to Lower Farm. Then along to Moor Farm. After a brief section on a very minor road we cross onto various fields and head back to the car park – taking care not to repeat my dramatic entrance via someone’s garden!
A number of stiles and a variety of livestock, but even the various herds of cattle were not interested in me. Please do consider if you will feel comfortable about walking up the long west side of the hill on the narrow track, initially with a steep drop to the left.
