This walk takes us through classical Chiltern landscapes with rolling hills visually broken by woods and small villages. On leaving Chalfont and Latimer Underground station we are soon in open country walking up to the village of Latimer. From there we walk along the Chiltern Way to the village of Sarratt where we will have lunch. After lunch we descend to Sarratt Bottom and cross the River Chess and climb up to Chorleywood House and then over Chorleywood Common to the underground station in Chorleywood Village.
Train: The quickest route from central London is to use the Chiltern Line trains from Marylebone. The 9.56 arrives at Chalfont & Latimer station at 10.28.
There are frequent Metropolitan Line trains from Baker Street to Chalfont and Latimer Station. The 9.30 Met Line train from Baker Street will arrive at Chalfont & Latimer Station at 10.22.
At the end of the walk there are frequent Metropolitan and Chiltern Rail trains from Chorleywood to central London.
Lunch: Our lunch stop will be in village of Sarratt on the green where there are shelters and benches.
Toilet: Toilets are available at both Chalfont & Latimer and Chorleywood Stations for the start and end of the walk. Sarratt village has a pub adjacent to the lunch stop where with the purchase of a cup of tea/coffee toilets are available.
