Meeting time & place:
09:20 at Manchester Piccadilly station to catch the 09.31 train to Chinley.

10:07 at Chinley station.

Note: walkers are advised to check one of the rail websites such as nationalrail or trainline close to the departure time in case of late changes to the running of the train.
Train ticket - return to Edale (if you have a GM concessionary travel pass this can be from Strines).
Car parking available at Chinley station.
Walk route - Cracken Edge, Phoside Farm, Highgate, Stubbs Farm, Coldwell Clough, Jacob's Ladder, Upper Booth, Barber Booth, Edale.
The walk involves some steep ascents and descents, poles are recommended. Some paths are narrow with steep drops to one side. Some paths are very muddy. We may well end the walk in the dark though we should be down to field and track level by then. If the weather is bad we will take a variation on this route which will be shorter with fewer climbs.
Walking boots and clothing (including waterproofs if wet weather is possible) are essential. Lunch and non-alcoholic drinks should be brought.
