Overview

The 7 mile walk will leave from Chinley railway station, drop down to the High Peak Tramway then a steady climb up to South Head. There will be an option to climb to the top of South Head or to walk around it. Both have stunning views. We will then drop back down to Chinley via the Steel Cotton Trail.

The route may be wet, boggy or slippy in places and poles are recommended if you use them.

Total elevation approximately 925 feet (slightly more to the top of South Head).

Meet at Chinley Station.  The cost for the day is £2 via the RingGo app. Alternative on road parking also available throughout Chinley.

This walk will be co-lead by Sue and Raj.  If you want more information about this walk please contact either of them (Sue 07817712776 or Raj 07515013958)
