Trellech’s name refers to the “Three Stones” erected in the Bronze Age (Harold Stones) near the start of the walk. The route leads west skirting wooded hillsides to pass Pant Glas House and barn, mostly 16th century. Through more fields and quiet lanes it reaches the woodland of Broad Meend and passes Cleddon Hall, the birthplace of Nobel prize-winner Bertrand Russell. Crossing more open woodland it returns to Trellech to visit its large church. Trellech also contains a popular pub for visitors and weary walkers.
