The circular walk starts low in Findon Valley to the north of Worthing, rising steadily up the southern slope of the Downs. Visiting the "Rings" of Cissbury and Chanctonbury. There is a lunch and an optional pub stop at the Franklin Arms at Washington. Climbing again after lunch along a well-graded path following the South Downs Way, then the Monarch's Way.
Parts of the walk can be slippery so do bring poles if needed.
We meet and start at Storington Rise Car park. Please do carshare for this walk.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. Click here (https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership) to apply. The cost is very reasonable and there are also other benefits. Please then bring your membership card with you.
