Tempted by a refreshing beach walk to stretch your legs at the end of the week. Great views. The Quantocks and Hinkley look so impressive on a clear day.
This is a flat walk, initially along the river estuary, no stiles and takes in the promenade as well as some firm sandy beach. No hills and very little mud! Steering clear of any soft sand, walking alongside the dunes towards Berrow.
Interestingly, Burnham has three lighthouses and we will get to see at least one of these. The promenade offers an insight into Burnham’s marine past. After our picnic lunch adjacent to the tiny, historic church nestled amongst the sands dunes of Berrow, we will retrace our outbound route.
There and back about 7.5 miles.
