If you are a Ramblers member, please bring your membership card. You MUST text or ring the leader to BOOK a place. You should not join the walk unless you have received a verbal CONFIRMATION or a TEXT.
This walk starts on top of the Colerne ridge and we slowly descend via Weavern farm into the picturesque Bybrook valley. Our first uphill section brings us into Hungerford Wood and the Rudloe Manor estate. We descend again into the Bybrook Valley and turn across the meadows on the Macmillan Way towards the village of Box. Now we start the final ascent to Colerne via Ditteridge and West Wood. Fabulous views , good walking and lovely architecture. What more could one wish for? Expect some stiles, country lanes and grassy fields, and pavements in Colerne. Please bring your lunch.
For those members who are happy to car share, we meet first at the Bath Road car park in Chippenham. (“Pay and Display”). Contact walk leader Rod to reserve your place on this walk and to tell him if you are going direct or require car share. Lifts are suggested at £1.60.
We meet and start the walk from outside the church. Google search CPQR+H9 Chippenham, On street parking unlimited in appropriate places on Sundays. Please park considerately. O/S Explorer 156.
