This is a repeat of the walk last done in August 2023. 5.7 miles, mostly on made up paths and some road walking. No hill or styles, but there are steps up to the canal towards the end – and the footbridge over the railway line.
The route is along the canal to Buglawton, passing through the “ghost village” of Havannah, on to the mill weir and following the River Dane through Congleton Park before returning to the station via the Biddulph Way.
There are a couple of places we can stop for coffee, depending on the pace.
The Queens Head is across the road from the station, for anyone wanting lunch there they have advised booking.
PLEASE CHECK OUR WEBSITE ON THE DAY FOR ANY CHANGES TO THE WALK. NB Finish times are intended as a guide only. You do not need to book a place on this walk.
Ramblers Association recommends that all walkers carry ICE (in case of emergency) information
