Overview

10:00 am start from Congleton Railway Station, SJ871623  CW12 3DE.

There may be some on street parking.  The station car park is £3 payable by using RingGo.  Users can pay by calling 01138090070, SMS 81025 (Location ID 35728)

This is a repeat of the walk last done in August 2023.    5.7 miles, mostly on made up paths and some road walking.  No hill or styles, but there are steps up to the canal towards the end – and the footbridge over the railway line.

The route is along the canal to Buglawton, passing through the “ghost village” of Havannah, on to the mill weir and following the River Dane through Congleton Park before returning to the station via the Biddulph Way.

There are a couple of places we can stop for coffee, depending on the pace.

The Queens Head is across the road from the station, for anyone wanting lunch there they have advised booking.
