Overview

This 9.5 mile moderate walk takes in some beautiful countryside as well as the geology of the area. Caves, springs and rivers, views and ice cream all guaranteed.

The walk has a couple of steepish climbs and some rocky terrain.

The route (subject to recce): Monyash - Bagshawdale - Lathkilldale - Haddon Grove Farm campsite - Grove Farm - Melbourne Farm - Over Haddon - Lathkilldale and waterfalls - One Ash Grange Farm (ice creams on sale from here - cash only) - Limestone Way - Monyash.

The pub is closed on Mondays but the café is open. Pints of tea available!

This is a mix of paths, tracks, lanes and bridleways with some rough paths. Poles advised. No dogs due to livestock in fields. Lift share from Cheadle Hulme/Bramhall.

Meet 10.00am in Monyash on the green in front of the Old Smithy Tea Rooms next to the Bull’s Head pub. There should be plenty of street parking in the village in addition to some spaces in the small car park on Chapel Street. Parking is free, but there is a honesty box at the car park. Public toilets are available a mile or so from the start as well as half-way round.
